Stage de Français en Guadeloupe (French Training in Guadeloupe)

The Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) entered its third year of collaboration with the Institut de Cooperation Franco Caraibe (ICFC) to conduct another foreign language and internship training opportunity for Saint Lucian employees working within the Tourism and Hospitality Sector. The  initiative will involve a two (2) week intensive French language training which has been scheduled for November 2014 in Guadeloupe.

Interested individuals and establishment were only required to pay airfare to Guadeloupe, while     boarding and lodging was provided by the Hospitality School which the employees were attached to in Guadeloupe. The participating establishments were also willing to reciprocate by accommodating the same number of Guadeloupe Hotel employees in their establishment.

These employees undergone two weeks of intensive training in French, covering various aspects of the restaurant, hotels, tour operators etc.  They were also required to engage in group presentations and undertake various projects.  Participants visited hotels in Guadeloupe to experience and understand the way the French operate and learned the different cultures. Upon completion of the training they received a “certificat de participation au stage”.
