SLHTA and Monroe College offers another round of Chef’s Administrative Training
The Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) in collaboration with Monroe College is pleased to offer another round of Chef’s Administrative Training for Chefs working within the Hospitality Industry (see attached). The training in 2014 was very successful, with over 40 Chefs receiving training in Administration relating to Food & Beverage. The training continues to be in demand from more properties, so the SLHTA is pleased to invite members take advantage of this programme. The certification course is being offered by Monroe College and is facilitated every Friday from 9am – 3pm, over a six week period and will be held at the Monroe College Campus. Upon completion, participants will graduate and receive a certificate from the institution.
The course starts on Friday May o4th 2018. The cost for the programme is EC $1,462.50 for SLHTA members and $1,575.00 for none SLHTA members and is payable in full BEFORE commencement of the training

What types of scholarships does CHTAEF offer?
CHTAEF currently provides scholarship awards to worthy Caribbean nationals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the industry and the potential for future success. All scholarships are for tuition costs only. CHTAEF Scholarships range on average from $500 to $5,000. Candidates must show how they will fund your entire tuition costs on the application form including other scholarships they expect to receive.
When are the scholarship winners announced?

Introducing Our Chocolate Chef
Sandals Halcyon Beach Resort
Chef Kisha Prosper, a devoted mom and diligent worker, is the chef de Partie at Sandals Halcyon Beach Resort & Spa. Chef Kisha represented Saint Lucia at the 2017 Taste of the Caribbean competition, where she walked away with the bronze medal in the Chocolate competition.
Kisha’s career started at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay, an experience she describes as helping to push her to learn more and develop her craft. She then move to Smuggler’s Cove Resort & Spa and has spent the last six years of her career at Sandals Halcyon. Chef Kisha’s dedication to her profession has resulted in her most recent accomplishment, a promotion to chef de Partie.
Chef Kisha will once again return to the 2018 Taste of the Caribbean Chocolate competition where she hopes to improve on her performance and take home gold.
